Friends, hello everyone!
Today I propose you to talk a little on the topic of visualization, namely what it is and why we ordinary people need it at all.
Many will now say that it is fashionable to use practices related to visualization of their goals and desires. And here I would like to add that it is not only possible, but also effective. Not everyone is familiar with this technique and, of course, not everyone fully understands what it really is and how it can affect a person’s life.
Contrary to popular belief, visualization is not just a trendy pastime, but a proven scientific phenomenon. Many personal growth coaches consider the ability to work and manage mental images to be an important component on the way to success, to your goal, to your cherished desire.
In simple terms, visualization is the creation of an image of what we want to achieve. Visualization includes not only the object of desire, but also actions aimed at achieving it. To achieve the desired, you need to imagine each step on the way to the goal, on the way to the desire, the direction of movement and even obstacles that will have to overcome.
Specialists recommend visualization for learning new skills, achieving complex goals, gaining control and self-confidence, keeping calm in stressful situations, developing new plans and strategies.
Visualization has already been successfully applied in different areas of life.
It helps athletes to gain self-confidence, increase endurance, improve memory and concentration, learn to work with energy; doctors to make fewer mistakes; police officers to reduce stress levels; musicians not to make mistakes when playing musical instruments. Many famous people do not neglect this technique. For example, Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carrey, Will Smith, consider visualization an integral part of their success.
How does visualization work?
The fact is that the human brain does not understand where imagination, our representation, ends and where reality begins. It does not matter to the brain whether you think about the past, present or future. Even if you just contemplate any action, the same neural connections will be activated in the brain as in real activity.
By visualizing, you stimulate the area of the brain that is responsible for exploring the world around you and finding new possibilities, and you create new neural connections that help you think and act differently than we are used to in our usual way.
In addition, the brain begins to work as an information filter and notices only what is important to achieve the goal.
That’s why it’s worth setting a specific goal for yourself and everything seems to help us achieve it and offer opportunities. So if you have long wanted to change something in your life, visualization is a great tool that will help you to build a concrete action plan on the way to your goal, to your desire and, of course, to start acting.
To achieve results, approach the practice of visualization systematically.
Take into account several important principles.
1. Set a clear and measurable goal.
For example: “I want to receive a monthly income of 500 thousand rubles per month.” or “I want to have a 3-room apartment in the center of Moscow, an area of 150 square meters with repairs by a designer.”
2. be ready to adapt to fears and anxieties.
Unaccustomed actions and the expectation of change, will inevitably cause anxiety and insecurity. Don’t run away from them. Rather, think about how you wanted to respond to them and how you would act if your fear became a reality. Visualize the story and how you deal with it all ruthlessly.
3. Write out all your goals and desires on paper.
By putting your thoughts in writing, you encode the words in your brain. This is how you affect all the senses and activate several areas of the brain at once, and your goal or desire gradually becomes more tangible.
4. Always work out all the details carefully.
It is important to visualize everything down to the last detail. When your goal is achieved, where you will be, what you will do, what you will feel, what emotions you will experience, what you will be wearing. The main thing is to make your brain believe in the reality of what is happening. When you stop thinking of what you want as a pipe dream, it will definitely do everything to bring you to your goal.
